The North Jetty in Nokomis FL is about 20 to 30 minutes from North Port FL. Great fishing location and view of the Gulf. Adjacent to Nokomis Beach.

If you're local and want a quick drive to a sliver of sand, Port Charlotte Beach Park may be ok. In our opinion, It's not a beach destination. The Water was ice tea color which we're told is from Mangrove Trees coupled with ocean and fresh water canals merging, but many people choose not to go in. There is a pool, a pier and a boat launch in the park.
