The trainers are lined with a hidden layer of PUL (polyurethane laminate), 2 layers of bamboo, 1 layer of flannel that goes against the skin. When choosing a size, measure your child, and view the size chart. It is recommended to size up from what would fit based on the chart due to the added layering inside the underwear; especially if he/she is already fitting closer to the next size. There is a little less stretch in the legs due to the extra absorbent material. Your child will feel wet but the PUL liner will help to stop puddling. While the PUL liner is waterproof, the undies themselves are not 100% leakproof.
