The surf shorts are an awesome pattern for chilling at the beach, swimming, or even for a nice dinner! Though you can use any knit or woven fabrics (with a few small adjustments for woven), this pattern was designed with stretch boardshort or stretch woven in mind. With a faux fly and working pockets, these shorts are a perfect grab for almost any occasion! The kids version of these shorts has a slim fit. To get the right fit, be sure to read through the instructions, size up if needed (with non stretch woven), and make a muslin before cutting into your pretty fabric! Sizes NB - 9/10. Options: Faux fly Pockets (front and back) hemmed or bound with bias tape with a curved side Pattern Type:PDF (Includes Layered Pattern and Instructions) - Letter, A0, Projector Skill Level:Beginner Sizes & Fabric Quantity:All Sizes: 1/2 Yard/.5 meters Materials: Stretch Boardshort or Stretch Woven - my favorite fabric to use for this patternis stretch boardshort fabric (when swimming). Stretch woven works greatfor every day shorts and depending on the contents could work for swimmingas well.Another option is non stretch boardshort or regular woven but if you use nonstretch, I highly recommend adding an extra 1/4” (.6cm) to the pattern piecesand then use a 3/8” (1cm) seam allowance while sewing.
